Our story
Climate Cooperative was born from a shared concern about the future of our planet. We saw that many businesses wanted to reduce their carbon footprint but were held back by unclear, unreliable options.
The lack of transparency and verifiable results made it hard to take meaningful action. Determined to find a better way, we combined our expertise in sustainability and technology to create Climate Cooperative.
We wanted to offer a solution that not only helps the environment but also provides businesses with clear proof of their impact. By pinpointing the exact tree responsible for each kilogram of absorbed CO₂, we make carbon offsetting tangible and trustworthy.
Founders
Jaap Harmsma (The Netherlands) – Co-Founder
Entrepreneur, blockchain architect, and climate tech advocate. After scaling Muntinternet Networks into a multi-million-euro hosting company, Jaap built the blockchain infrastructure behind the world's first fully transparent, geo-tagged CO₂ offsets. He specialises in token ecosystems, real-world asset protocols, and scalable climate platforms, and regularly speaks on climate tech and Web3 innovation.

Climate tech entrepreneur and UNFCCC Article 6.4 expert. William leads the development of certified Carbon Debits and ensures alignment with the Global Carbon Standard. His work bridges policy, science, and blockchain to create a new benchmark in offset verifiability.
